Michelgrove.
From the A27 north of Worthing take the A280 Long Furlong road. A little way along take the lane to Lee Farm. On the left you will find Michelgrove cottages hidden away and a little further on Michelgrove is clearly visible. This castellated wall ends in a small turret and was the ancestral home of the poet Shelley. In 1828 it was aquired by the Duke of Norfolk, his bitter rival and he subsequently raised it to the ground leaving this enticing reminder.
