Firle Tower.
From Lewes on the A27 take the 2nd right, Heighton Street. Past a fruit farm and some way up a private road the Folly Tower stands aloof on a hill in Firle Place estate surrounded by panoramic views. Now a private house it was built by Lord Gage in 1819 for his gamekeeper. It was also used as a signaling tower to cater for his Lordship's whims.
